Fallen: 1-3 Chapters
The book Fallen introduces you to the main protaginst by the name of Luce Price. She seems to be refered to as some kind of drop-out criminal, although she does not seem to remember what she did at all. Very pale, with porceilin skin and short cropped black hair, Luce keeps to herself mainly seeming to be quite shy and easily embarrassed by the people around her. She seems one to be a people pleaser, and doesn't want to be a loner. Taken to a now reformed (more like military) school called Stone and Cross. Luce is thrown into a mass of real thuggish kids ranging from the looks of preps, rockers, and down-right mean thugs. Scared and confused, she is told the many rules like how she must stick to the three 'ed's': Meds, Beds, and Reds. Finding out the meaning for 'reds', she is now being followed by cameras all around her watching her every move. While being directed around the dreary, non-manicured campuss (unlike her last prep school), she is introduced, or more like stuck with a girl by the name of Arriane who shows her the do's and don'ts of her new school and the who's and what's to come being there. Spunky and outgoing, Luce, whose more quiet and maintained, can not really understand, or more trust, the object of friendship that this wacky girl is trying to offer, but Luce doesn't throw it off either. That was the one fear for Luce coming into her new school was the idea of being alone. While being directed around her first day, she is introduced to a body of people, some in a good fashion whilst others not so well.
Other then Arrianne, two in particlar boys she was introduced to where the two she's seem to have a fasination for: Cam and Daniel. Cam was in the group of newbies when she first arrived for her brief orientation of the school. Fitting the persona of the school, Cam is tall with dark black hair and piercing green eyes. Rocker in all, she seems to blush everytime he looks at her. During her first class period he too also seemed kneen to speak with her, inviting her to his room by a guitar pick with the number written upon it. Seeming to like his personality, Luce puts Cam in the catergory of future friends. Daniel on the other hand intrigues Luce by his array of authority: tall, dark and handsome sums him up to Luce. He has blonde hair and very deep blue eyes that make Luce want to run into his arms and stare for hours at a time. Why should she though? She doesn't even know the guy, and besides unlike Cam, Daniel does not seem to be intrested in the new girl at all. When Luce met his gaze the first time outside the courtyard before class, he flicked her off. I mean literally, middle finger and everything. What a douche... But anyways, feeling utterally embarrassed, Luce tries to avoid Daniel at all costs, but yet has that urge to seak him out at the same time.
Another person Luce has met on her journey through her first day at Stone & Cross was a girl by the name of Penn. When standing in line for lunch with Arriane, Luce ran, not purposely, into a small pixie girl by the name of Molly and started a brawl with her. When Arriane defened her though, she threw a punch at Molly sending all three to detention and also making Arriane's metal bracelet, which Luce learns to be a detector for kids who are much more dangerous in teh school, to go off and send her into revolting shocks. When the teacher comes to take Arriane away to turn her metal bracelt off, Molly throws her plate full of meatloaf onto Luce's head threating her to steer clear. Feeling utterley embarassed, Luce runs out the door to the nearset bathroom running into Penn. Finding out that Penn was the only sane, non-criminal girl to exist in this school she see's Penn bring in some shampoo and a helping hand to Luce putting Penn at the top of her list of potential friends.
Other then meeting the very sweet librarian Mrs. Sofia, the last chapter of the day shows Luce walking about the dormitory's finding the library and having mishap meetings with both Daniel and Daniel's good friend Roland. Between Roland and Daniel she finds herself speechless each time, and fixating herself with the weird notions of dark shapes lurking around her location, which she has had since she was a little girl. Unlike Roland who treated her nicely, Daniel rejected her prescense and treated her like the plague leaving the room as fast as he could. Between being confused with Daniel and Arriane's means of rejection and friendship, being put into a hard-class society school of rejects and criminals, and now being nickname Meatloaf, and mocked at every cornor she goes, Luce so far is having the most awakard and worst day of her entire life. And thats not even her backstory of why she was put here in the first place.
