You Wish: 26-30 Chapters

So this is the part of the book where it gets really sad. After the big blow out with her mother and best friend Nicole, Kayla begins to feel like her world is tumbling out of control.

Throwing herself into her bed in frustration she tries to feed her anger off on Ann, but Ann seems a bit too happy. Confronting her of her sheer excitment, Kayla finds out that Ann had answered a call from her bitter rival Janae, telling her she was invited to a party at her house. This weird invite recalls one of Kayla's wishes back when she was younger when she always dreamed of Janae inviting her to her birthday parties and pool parties.

Well, another wish down...

Deciding she had nothing better to do then to go to this party and become humiliated as it was, she and Ann, to Kayla's dismay, get fully dressed up for this party and head over. At first, they actually had some fun since Ann made her play on Janae's Wii with a couple of junior boys from her school, but as soon as Nicole enters the house everything goes down hill. Janae begins to register that Kayla doesn't belong there, people start talking about Kayla's sudden boost of clevage, and Ken shows up with the pink My Little Pony galloping through the house damaging Janae's carpet and some furniture in the process. Grabbing Ann while ditching Carson (aka Ken) along the way out, Kayla drops her off at the house with the pony and drives to the dirt track with her new lime green bike, just for some solitude. But instead she runs into the one person shes still been avoiding...Ben.

Instead of leaving like she should have, she instead drove up and decided she really needed to apologize for acting like Ben was the plauge. In the mean time, she finds herself on the bike getting lessons from him, and she loving every moment. But unlike all her fantasies of her being taught by him and the closeness of it all, Kayla finds herself driving smack down into the dirt track field with her body slamming into Ben's. For a few seconds all she can do is stare at him wishing with all her might that this moment could last forever, but knowing it was wrong she got up and walked away. Trying to get her to stay, Ben asked if they would ever be the same again, but Kayla couldn't answer him.

Aww...how sad. :/
