You Wish: 21-25 Chapters

Picking up in chapter 21, Kayla beings to notice that her best friend Nicole is going through some major changes: shes no longer wearing her usual t-shirt and jeans, shes now dressing up in designer clothes and shoes. She's curling her hair more often and her face full of acne is all cleared up. Also, Nicole is no longer talking to Kayla anymore.

Headed home, Ann (her doll came to life) tries to get Kayla to bring out some childhood toys to cheer her up. Taking out some old coloring books, popping in The Little Mermaid, and then consturcting some odd shapes with her brothers Legos, Kayla begins to cheer up when the door bell rings. Out pops Carson (also known as her Ken doll that came to life too), asking her to go to the mall. Not really having a choice with two dolls pleading, they all three head to the mall. Keeping up with two insane dolls isn't easy, so she finally gets some space in the food court when she runs into the one person she was trying to avoid.

Ben.

Confused, seeing as Nicole ditched her for a date with Ben the same day, she tries to ask him why he wasn't with her when Carson returns to the table, with Ann at his side. Pretty much the introductions were horrible, and the utter humiliation of Carson playing with his biceps and pecs, and Ann stuffing her face with Kayla's cinnabon, she couldn't help but want to run far away. Finally being able to escape, they make their way out of the mall when she decides to make a wish at the wishing fountain, just for kicks when she feels Ann fall into her and she goes falling into the water. Carson then pulls her out of the water, but Kayla feels her feet sticking. Taking her shoes off she sees her skin turning blue and her toes not strectching out. They looked webbed to her.

OMG...

She was turning into a mermaid!!!

Jumping out the water, she lets Carson carry her out and to her house, luckly seeing her skin turning back to its pink tent. Apparantly water turns her into a fish freak. Great...

The next day, she finds herself at school alone because she found Nicole sitting with the popular crowd at lunch. Then in photography class she gets into a huge argument with her about her changes. Realizing that Nicole only wanted to be secret friends with Kayla, she begins to pick up her things and drops all her stuff from her backpack, including the hidden picture of Ben she had in her notebook. Nicole sees it, and calls Kayla out. Feeling horrible, Kayla tries to explain but Nicole retaliates and confesses that Ben broke up with her.

Already having a hard day, Kayla heads home to find herself in another argument with her mother instead. Apparantly another wish had come true, and it was in the garage waiting to be found. A lime green dirtbike, a wish Kayla had always wanted ever since she knew Ben loved to dirtbike. Confronting her without even acknowleging her feelings, the mother began to blame Kayla for some things and the agrument turned into a full out fight. Things were said and eventully the mother became really hurt. 

What a mess.
